American Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Macy Gray will perform at the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) next year on the South Australian leg of her ‘The Way” national tour.

Macy Gray will perform at Centre’s Adelaide Fringe Festival venue, Big Slapple, on March 11 with tickets now on sale.

The concert will also form part of a week-long events program to celebrate the official launch of the new West Building, the first stage of the Centre’s expansion, where the concert will be hosted.

Macy Gray’s unmistakeable sound is one that has captured the imaginations of a generation, a truly unique artist with a bucket full of soul and an utterly relatable emotiveness, leading audiences on a wild ride of raw emotion and leaving them in awe of her undeniable pure talent and musicality.

Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive Alec Gilbert said the Centre was delighted to host Macy Gray’s only Adelaide concert during her national tour.

“The concert will be a great way to showcase the Centre’s expansion and particularly the flexibility of its design and increased capacity” said Mr Gilbert.

“The western side of the expansion is on track for completion at the end of this year with events being held in the new space from January, 2015.

“The conference and events program for the early part of the year, a traditionally quiet time for the industry, is very strong with other events being hosted including the 2015 Cellar Door Wine Festival (February 20-22, 2015), Best Day Ever and Enlighten Adelaide.”
