ADIA Board Strengthened By Manufacturing Experience

By Australian Dental Industry Association, 9 March, 2016

Australia’s peak business organisation representing dental product manufacturers and suppliers, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), has appointed Ms Samantha Cheetham of SDI Limited to its Board.  Ms Cheetham serves as the joint Chief Executive Officer of the publicly listed SDI Limited, Australia’s largest manufacturer of dental products with reported sales of AUD$68.7m in FY2014-15.

The announcement that Ms Cheetham has been appointed to the ADIA Board was made on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2016.

“ADIA has a strong commitment to supporting local businesses that manufacture dental products and we are excited by the contribution that Samantha will bring to our work in this area,” said Mr Mike Covey, ADIA National President.

Of the eight directors on the ADIA Board, four are appointed on a skills basis to ensure that the Association has available to it the expertise required to maintain its leadership in the dynamic commercial, technical and regulatory environment in which the dental industry works.

“It’s a genuine privilege to have been selected as an ADIA Director, an organisation that enjoys extraordinary levels of support from businesses across the industry.  Australian dental product manufacturers face unique challenges and I hope that ADIA, its members and the broader industry is able to benefit from my perspective in this area,” Ms Cheetham said.

The ADIA Board also reappointed Mr Craig Young of A-dec International as a Director, his second three-year term.

“In a year that ADIA embarks upon the task of developing a next-generation strategic plan, these appointments provide the Board with the capacity that will ensure we can deliver initiatives that will allow businesses to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably,” Mr Covey said.
