AGT JOINS FORCES WITH IICA TO LAUNCH NEW EXHIBITION ZONE

By Diversified Communications, 27 May, 2013

The Australian Gas Technology Conference & Exhibition (AGT) has joined forces with the Institution of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (IICA) to provide a showcase for the latest process control, instrumentation and automation innovations for the oil and gas industry.

AGT has announced this year’s exhibition will feature an Instrumentation, Control & Automation Zone for the first time, along with a series of free seminars hosted by IICA.

The new exhibition zone will play host to IICA members and leading suppliers of instrumentation, process control and automation products, services and technology, such as Aust Dynamic Technologies, I&E Systems, Metso, Pressure and Safety Systems, and Samson Controls.

IICA WA Branch Chairman, Ernst Krauss said AGT 2013 offered an excellent platform for members to showcase their new technology to key decision makers from the gas industry, including the lucrative LNG sector.

“With more than $200 billion worth of LNG projects planned or already in construction in Australia, the LNG sector represents a huge opportunity for our members,” said Krauss.

“The Instrumentation, Control & Automation Zone will give our exhibitors the chance to connect with thousands of senior project and procurement managers from leading LNG operators, EPC contractors and suppliers, discuss upcoming projects and explore new opportunities to tender.”

Western Australia’s only gas technology event will also present a series of free seminars on 2 July exploring new developments, issues and case studies in process control, instrumentation and automation, with speakers from industry leaders including Invensys Operations Management, I&E Systems, Clough Amec, Apex Optimisation and Sage Automation.

Hosted by IICA, the seminars will look at how advanced process control improves gas plant profitability and delve into topics such as asset management of electrical, control, safety and communication systems, turbine functional safety management, and control system upgrades in the oil and gas industry.

The Instrumentation, Control & Automation Zone will be just one of the highlights on the AGT Exhibition floor at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1-3 July. More than 80 exhibitors are expected to showcase new products and innovations in gas processing and the construction and operation of LNG facilities, associated pipelines and exporting terminals.
