ATP hosts inspiring Google Atmosphere conferenceBy Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia, 6 August, 2014CASE STUDY:NAME: Google Atmosphere SydneyTYPE: Conference / Exhibition BY: George P Johnson and Australian Technology Park Conference CentreVENUE: Australian Technology ParkPAX: 1350WHAT WE DID: Google Atmosphere brought together technology and business focused learning experiences for executives to find out about how Google can help transform work. Professional Conference Organiser, George P Johnson Coordinated the event with multiple suppliers working together to deliver an exhibition full of inspiring ideas on culture change, collaboration, agility and innovation in the new digital work place.ATP’s Exhibition Hall was the centrepiece of this amazing conference, with demonstrations on Google technologies set out in colourful displays. Coffee stations and micro kitchens were set up around the Hall by Fresh Catering where visitors could grab lunch or a coffee break at any time of the day.Half of the Hall was transformed into an interactive lecture theatre for talks with key note speakers and satellite sessions were set up throughout the rest of the Locomotive Workshop with seminars held in the Dining Room, the ATP theatre and smaller breakout rooms.DIFFICULTIES: The challenge the ATP team faced with Google Atmosphere was its changing landscape. The event involved a lot lateral thinking and adapting to a constantly evolving brief. As the date for the conference got closer the size and scope grew with new exhibitors, speakers and delegates joining the fold each day. This proved challenging when organising site layouts and bump- ins.OVERCOMING DIFFICULTIES: The key to overcoming these difficulties was constant and efficient communication. The ATP team worked together with all the suppliers and event planners to ensure the smoothest set up for the exhibition. Our event managers where in constant contact with caterers and equipment suppliers, making sure they were aware of any changes in the lead up and that setting up for the event went as smoothly as possible. CLIENT'S COMMENTS: “I just wanted to say massive THANK YOU for all your ongoing support in the lead up, and of cause the delivery of what was one of the most eventful events I have ever produced! Despite the incredible pressure and the ongoing changes, delays and unexpected twists and turns, you were all fantastic, and I can’t thank you enough. The event was a success and that is in no small part down to you.”Rosie Thompson-Jones George P Johnson www.atp.com.au Source: Australian Technology Park
