Aussie Dental Product Exporters To Meet In CanberraBy Australian Dental Industry Association, 4 September, 2017Building collaborative networks amongst the Australian businesses involved in dental product manufacturing and export is the focus of the Australian Dental Products Exporters’ Forum to be held in Canberra on 14 September 2017. The event is convened by the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), the peak business organisation representing dental product manufacturers and suppliers. “The research being undertaken within Australia on new and innovative patient treatment options is world-class; however, given the relatively small size of the domestic market to successfully commercial this research businesses need to export. It’s in this context that ADIA is so pleased to be hosting this forum that provides a vehicle for business to explore collaboration opportunities that will help them reach new overseas markets,” said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer. Australia’s dental product manufacturers are exporting merchandise that ranges from medical suction equipment, teeth whitening products, tooth restorative materials to hospital-grade disinfectants. Pioneering new technologies such as 3D printing are being harnessed to add to the products local manufacturers are taking to the world. “Whereas other sectors of Australia’s manufacturing sector are in decline, Australia’s medtech manufacturing sector is growing thanks to overseas exports. The exiting thing is it is the adoption of pioneering technology such as computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing that’s driving this,” Mr Williams said. Participants at the Australian Dental Products Exporters’ Forum will hear from key stakeholders including Austrade, MTP Connect, the Australian Made campaign in addition to the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “A major priority of ADIA is to foster the development of Australia’s dental product manufacturing sector. This event is just one small component of an overall strategy that we’ll be launching at the forum,” Mr Williams concluded. Source: Australian Dental Industry Association
