Of her new role with Barnardos, Anna says she is honoured and delighted to be able to contribute to this great cause. As a mother of two, Anna happily balances work and motherhood in a fast paced leading hospitality business of some 300 employees in total. Family businesses account for around 70 per cent of all businesses in Australia and employ 50 per cent of the Australian workforce, so that’s a great contribution from working mothers. “Family businesses bring passion to the workplace – an indescribable motivation to succeed, you don’t mentally clock off”, says Anna. “Family values are that of unity, trust, dedication and commitment. Combine these attributes to every day business and you have a great formula”, she continued. “Many mothers are a leading force to their own family unit regardless if you are the CEO of a company or a stay-home mum. Barnardos acknowledge these touching stories through their awards programme which I am humbled to be a part of”. Doltone House are delighted to be a major event sponsor of the National 2013 Mother of The Year announcement luncheon. As the CEO of one of Australia’s leading venue and catering businesses, she represents the business confidently and with pride in being part of continuing her families legacy. Being an active participant of the family business and having won NSW Family Business of the Year in 2009 (2nd generation), and inducted into Family Business Australia Hall of Fame in November 2012, Anna proudly fosters the skills and attributes that contribute to the driving success of the ‘people in the business’. She was featured in BRW in 2009 discussing succession planning in family businesses.
