AFAC 2018

The AFAC, Fire & Emergency Management Conference 2018 was held on the 5th – 8th September in Perth.

Schenker Australia was appointed as the official logistics partner and sole onsite handling provider for the third year in a row!

During the event we moved: 1,000kg of Air Freight and 200cbm of Domestic Transport.

Below testimonial from the organiser of the event:

“AFAC is one of the nation’s largest events for the emergency services industry and has been running for 24 years.

It is imperative that a show with such longevity and reputation consistently meets the expectations of its sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and attendees. To achieve this, the most proficient suppliers must be engaged, as it is upon their products and services which organisers so heavily rely.

For this reason, DB Schenker was once again selected as the official logistics provider for this annual show.

AFAC is a logistically challenging event as not only is it extremely multi-faceted, the exhibition itself relies heavily on vehicle movement for a variety of reasons. With most of the stands in the show being large Space Onlys, deliveries containing build materials and other items needed to be meticulously scheduled to allow for a seamless Move In and Move Out.

Furthermore, the Live Demonstration area and general show floor space featured a variety of display vehicles which were also dependent on particular scheduling and staging.

The DB Schenker team managed each of these requirements with the same professionalism and efficiency as they had done in the past. They communicated clearly and consistently in the lead up to the event as well as onsite, making the show’s overall organisation a smooth process logistically.

Our exhibitors were pleased with the level assistance that was provided by DB Schenker staff throughout the entire process, and the team worked exceptionally well with the other contractors and venue. The result was a successful event Move In, execution and Move Out, and AFAC18 was truly a fantastic show overall”. Amy Saleh, Operations and Events Manager
