EEA acquires the Australian Tattoo & Body Art Expos

By EEA, 4 May, 2015

Exhibitions and Events Australia (EEA) announced today that it has acquired the highly popular Australian Tattoo & Body Art Expos – conducted annually in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth – from Toro Media. The new ownership took effect on 1 May 2015.

Matthew Johnson, Director of Toro Media, said “EEA is perfectly placed to take over these successful and very colourful events. Phil and I are excited about this change and the benefits to exhibitors it will bring.  They are an entrepreneurial business that is one of the best exhibition organisers in the country”.  Matthew continued, “I’m very confident EEA will do a great job in further building these lifestyle shows”.

The Australian Tattoo & Body Art Expos have grown in recent years to become the largest National Body Art events in the nation. They attract the best tattoo artists from Australia and around the globe, and over 40,000 visitors attend annually. The Expos enjoy an excellent international reputation which has seen them expand substantially.

Jane Ford, Managing Director of EEA stated “I am very excited to be taking over the ownership and management of the Australian Tattoo & Body Art Expos.  We have the skills, knowhow and resources to ensure the Expos maintain their outstanding reputation and continue to expand and prosper”.   Jane concluded “We are looking forward to working with all event stakeholders – exhibitors, visitors, venues and suppliers – to build on the great work Toro Media has done over the past three years.”

The purchase of these events consolidates EEA’s position as Australia’s largest organiser of consumer exhibitions, with 21 annual shows now across Australia and New Zealand. This acquisition forms part of the privately owned company’s strategy to diversify its product mix into new consumer genre, outside its traditional home show and women’s expo markets.
