2018 EEAA Leaders Forum and Conference – Meet our Speakers The flagship events of the EEAA – The Leaders Forum and Conference – will be held on 6 and 7 June 2018 at Pier One Sydney Harbour. 6 June – EEAA Leaders Forum The EEAA Leaders Forum engages the leaders from our Organiser, Association Organiser, Venue and Supplier community in discussions that will shape the direction of the industry and provide essential business insights at the highest levels of management. Meet the Speakers: Professor Toby Walsh, Scientia Professor of AI at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales. Professor Toby Walsh is forecasting how society will change over the next few decades – his predictions go to the heart of how we live. He is a leading researcher in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and was named one of the Knowledge Nation 100 “rock stars” of Australia’s new knowledge economy. Professor Walsh will be our keynote presenter at the Leaders Forum on the topic of Artificial intelligence, jobs and the industrial revolution. Sophie Holt, Global Strategy Director, Explori Sophie will be reporting on global trends in the exhibition industry and new insights from Australia and around the world. John O’Sullivan, Managing Director, Tourism Australia We will hear about the next long-term strategy for tourism and business events and Tourism Australia’s investment in a new $12M bid-fund. Harvey Lister, Chairman and Chief Executive, AEG Ogden Will share his views on the opportunities for business events from his broad-ranging perspective as a global and Australian venue operator. Chris Carroll, Chairman, The Eventful Group Chris specialises in events for 600 – 800 people – he is hugely successful in Australia and South Africa. He will discuss what has driven his success? And what are the challenges and opportunities- especially in the convex sector. Nick Vanzetti, Managing Director, ESL Australia and VIM Media and Events Nick will join the panel of Organisers and Associations for an open conversation with those at the coal face of creating exhibitions.
