EEAA INVITES INDUSTRY LEADERS TO FOCUS ON STRATEGY AND INNOVATION AT 2014 EEAA LEADERS FORUM

The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is inviting leaders in the Exhibition and Event Industry to focus on strategy and innovation when they gather for the 2014 Leaders Forum next month.

Registrations are now open for the event which will be held on 8 – 9 April at Lilianfels Blue Mountains. The Forum is a high-level thought leadership forum which engages leaders including organisers, venues and suppliers.

“This year the program looks at Innovation and Strategy with the aim of giving our most influential leaders the opportunity to think about and discuss important issues facing the industry,” said EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio.

“Over the 36 hours of the event, participants get the chance to step outside their day-to-day pressures and think about new principles around Strategy and Innovation. The program is an intensive executive coaching-style event, highly interactive and with content that will challenge attendees to relook at their businesses.” She said.

“To be successful leaders must have their radar set to scope and scan with a fresh approach – and the two business coaches leading the event will encourage that fresh thinking.”

The Innovation session will be led by James O’Loghlin, ABC – TV Host of ‘The New Inventors’ who has worked with over 1,000 companies that have pursued new opportunities through innovation.

The Strategy session will be led by John Vamos, Founder and Managing Director of Business Coaching Systems who has crafted a suite of purpose designed and rigorously tested questions able to produce pure business solutions for clients, by clients.

“James has a tremendous capacity to get to the heart of the strategies that help deliver the best thinking,” said Ms DiMascio.

“John is back by demand from our members after his strategic thinking session at our conference last year highlighted a new way of doing business. He will take attendees through a retrospective on the development of Strategy but then providing them with some tools to formalise the process – from ideas to action.”

EEAA members will also hear from the new events boss of Fairfax, Andrew McEvoy. At last year’s Leaders Forum guests heard from CEO Greg Hywood about the changes underway at Fairfax – one of which was to focus more on events. EEAA will pick up the Fairfax story with the recently appointed Andrew McEvoy.

Ms DiMascio said the decision to bring the Leaders Forum to the Blue Mountains this year was so the Association could contribute to the local economy after it took a battering in the summer bushfire season.

The EEAA thanks our event partners, Agility Fairs & Events, Info Salons, ODE Management and Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa for generously supporting this event.
