Ernie Dingo to star at outdoors expo at Brisbane Showgrounds

By Royal International Convention Centre, 16 March, 2018

Aussie legend Ernie Dingo will have outdoor adventurers hooked, when he takes to the stage at the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo at the Brisbane Showgrounds from today.

Some of the biggest celebrities in the industry will be on hand to offer advice at the three day event, with household name Ernie the major drawcard. He’ll give his unique take on the off-road industry when he stars on the Outback Stage.

Ernie will be joined by other TV personalities including Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt from the Channel 7Two hit show The Great Australian Doorstep, Jase Andrews from All 4 Adventure on Network Ten and Paul Burt from Network Seven.

More than 25,000 people are set to tackle the expo, which also features around 200 exhibitors selling the latest in 4WDs, camper trailers, tents, barbecues, fishing tackle and more.

This year sees the return of the Boating Industry Association, who were last involved in the expo in 2014. They’ll take over the John Reid Pavilion – the perfect spot for those wanting to reel in a new fishing boat or marine recreational vehicle.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said the expo had been held at the Showgrounds since it first began more than two decades ago.

“We’re proud to have such a long-running association with the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo which is always popular with enthusiasts,” he said.

“With more than 20 flexible indoor/outdoor spaces, the Brisbane Showgrounds is the perfect venue for large outdoors shows. In June, we’re hosting Queensland’s largest caravan show – the Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow – which is expecting around 50,000 people over six days.

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is

Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
