Developing initiatives and techniques to improve remediation efforts in PFAS contaminated areas

Per-and poly-fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) contamination of soil and water is an important issue of significant concern across Australia and around the world. Swathes of agricultural land have been contaminated by PFAS substances being deposited in local water supplies.
Sectors from the Defence to Aviation are now contributing to the hefty remediation costs in an attempt to clean-up contaminated soil and water.
The PFAS Forum set to be held on the 29th May 2019 in Sydney, will bring together representatives from across industries aiming to address the situation alongside the Government environmental departments and remediation companies to explore the best route forward, innovative practices for reducing contamination and routes of collaboration between the sectors.
