Eventbrite and TEDxMelbourne bring ‘Alice in Wonderland’ event inspiration to Melb

By Eventbrite, 6 May, 2015

Melbourne – Wednesday 5 May, 2015 – In today's digital world, creating meaningful live experiences is more important than ever. But whether its staging and lighting, florals and catering, grand installations, or all of the little touches that bring everything together, event design can be intimidating.

As part of Melbourne International Design Week 2015, global self-service ticketing and discovery platform, Eventbrite, has joined forces with TEDxMelbourne to host BriteAdventure, a free event to be held next Wednesday (May 13) aimed at bringing innovation and inspiration to one of the most critical elements of an event: design.

Featuring ‘Alice in Wonderland’ inspired event decor by Head Event Designer of Theme at JAK events, Kerry Howell, together with a range of creative displays, the event will be attended by Victoria’s top event professionals and is open to anyone with an interest in event planning and decor.

Eventbrite Australia Head of Marketing, Laura Huddle, said the theme was intended to encourage event organisers to think ‘experientially’.

“Event design is about much more than what looks good; it’s about meaningful ideas that enhance the attendee’s experience. Creative event design has the capacity to extend an event’s reach beyond the venue's physical walls, particularly through social media,” she said.

“We wanted to create an event that would inspire organisers with new ideas, and help them maximise their next event through creative design.”

Celebrity guest speaker, interior designer and winner of last year’s The Block, Chantelle Ford, will be in attendance to present her top event design tips. She will be joined by Alrick Pagnon, Creative Development and Partnership Manager at Creative Innovation Global, to share lessons and examples in event design from some of the world’s largest global brands.

Cocktails and light hor d'oeuvres provided by The Wolf and I will be served at the event.
