Fatboy Slim tops electric line-up at Brisbane ShowgroundsBy Royal International Convention Centre, 24 January, 2018Superstar English DJ Fatboy Slim will lead an international dance music line-up at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow night, for Electric Gardens.More than 3,200 dance music fans are expected to pack The Marquee for the event, which in just three years has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s biggest summer music festivals.With a Grammy Award, 10 MTV Video Music Awards and more than 1.5 million social media followers, Fatboy Slim will headline the event, along with North London’s Gorgon City and US DJ Marc Kinchen (MK).Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said this was the first time Electric Gardens had been held at the Showgrounds.“The festival has been running since 2016 and we’re thrilled they’ve chosen to bring their big name line-up to the Showgrounds this year, to lead music fans into the Australia Day long weekend,” he said.“The Brisbane Showgrounds is known as Queensland’s home of summer music. Next we’re hosting the popular St Jerome’s Laneway Festival on February 10, with more than 10,000 people expected.”Electric Gardens gets underway at 4pm.The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD.
