Federal Budget Review

By Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia , 18 May, 2017

Treasurer Scott Morrison has handed down the Federal Budget in Canberra, things to note are:

The focus on Western Sydney as well as the second Sydney Airport investment confirms the Government’s commitment to driving economic development through this long-awaited development.

The internal rail line linking Melbourne to Sydney is also an indicator of commitment to regional economic development along the corridor.

Relevant to our sector are the opportunities for growing apprenticeships and new costs imposed on companies who import labour.

There was no new money for business events bidding despite years of lobbying by all Associations through the Business Events Council of Australia.
