Kicking off the famil, guests enjoyed a helicopter trip to McLarens Landing for team building where they put their engineering skills to the test building boats using unorthodox materials for the ultimate in sink or swim challenges, followed by a well deserved alfresco lunch and exhilarating jet boat ride back to the mainland.

Other activities included experiencing the best in dining within the Broadbeach precinct’s new Oracle development, touring just some of the various accommodation providers which boast more than 3,000 accommodation rooms all in close proximity of the Centre and an overnight stay in neighbouring sister property, Jupiters Hotel and Casino.

Famil guest were shown the love, receiving V.I.P treatment and a personalised guided tour of the uniquely positioned GCCEC complete with a red carpet welcome, vintage themed table setting for a bespoke tapas lunch with breathtaking views of the Gold Coast Hinterland, followed by an art-class where guests unleashed their inner Da Vinci.

Producing innovative menus and delivering a style of service unique to other convention centres, guests feasted on culinary delights including poached local prawns accompanied by watermelon in palm sugar and ginger, king salmon confit in vanilla infused olive oil and twice cooked duck were masterfully created by the Centre’s award-winning team headed by Executive Chef, Garry Kindred.

GCCEC’s Director of Sales, Michelle Man, said that the famil allowed the team to “truly showcase our venue, our award-winning kitchen, internal audio visual capabilities and how the wider destination can provide event organisers with choice pertaining to entertainment, accommodation, and off-site alternatives”.

The event allowed guests to experience why the GCCEC was awarded the best meeting venue for 500 or more in Australia at this year’s Meetings and Events industry awards.
