More than 1,400 K-pop fans are expected to descend on the Brisbane Showgrounds tonight, for South Korean boy band GOT7’s Global Fan Meet.

Australia is the first leg of the global tour for six of the group’s seven members – JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, BamBam and Yugyeom – and their first time performing in the country. Their seventh member Youngjae couldn’t make it due to a back injury.

With more than 3.6 million Facebook followers, the K-pop group has a huge fan base and Brisbane fans can expect to see brand new songs and performances when the group takes to the stage.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said he was thrilled to host the popular boy band’s Global Fan Meet at the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) tonight.

“We’re one of three national locations for GOT7’s fan meet and we’re excited to welcome the group to our world-class venue,” he said.

“The Brisbane Showgrounds is no stranger to globally renowned artists and has already hosted some of the country’s biggest music performances this year, including two time Grammy Award-winning DJ, Diplo, from the USA.”

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
