Industry Professional to Lead The StarBy The Star Sydney, 9 September, 2014Echo Entertainment has welcomed industry key player Greg Hawkins to the role of Managing Director at their flagship Sydney property, The Star. The Star announced the appointment of Mr Hawkins in April this year and he formally commenced his duties 1 September. With over 20 years industry experience Mr Hawkins will provide invaluable management expertise across gaming and entertainment in his leadership of The Star. Mr Hawkins brings to his new post a wealth of knowledge garnered across a variety of local and international properties, including five years spent in senior leadership positions in Asian gaming strong hold Macau, as President of City of Dreams and CEO of Altira. Joining the team from his most recent role as CEO, Crown Melbourne, Mr Hawkins will be charged with continuing to build the business and further enhance the reputation of the property as a key tourism asset for Sydney. Mr Hawkins is enthusiastic about joining The Echo Entertainment Group to lead the team at The Star. “It is a great time to be coming on board at The Star and I’m delighted to be leading a wonderful team during this important phase for the property.
