MCEC announces new Chief Financial Officer

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) have announced the appointment of Geoff Stephens as Chief Financial Officer, who will join the venue from the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) on Tuesday 10 June.

Since 2002 Geoff has held the role of Finance Manager at the MCC, one of the world’s largest private sporting clubs which also manages the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Geoff has a further 10 years’ experience in a broad range of industries, including holding senior financial roles in advertising agencies and manufacturing.  

MCEC Chief Executive Peter King said: “Geoff will play an instrumental role in working with our executive team to implement MCEC’s five year strategy.

“Our business is growing significantly, we have many exciting opportunities on the table and Geoff will develop his team to help us focus and prioritise these initiatives.

“Last year was MCEC’s most successful in history and with us almost half way through 2014 it’s looking to be another record year.

“I’d like to congratulate Geoff and look forward to working with him and the MCEC team in continuing to lead one of the world’s best business events venues.”

Geoff was selected following an extensive national executive search process.
