Melbourne Showgrounds is the new venue for the 2019 NAB AFL Rising Star Award and a number of other eventsBy Melbourne Showgrounds, 2 September, 20192019 NAB AFL Rising Star Award is the first function to take place at the new Victoria Pavilion at Melbourne Showgrounds, Melbourne’s largest and most versatile indoor-outdoor event space. With an already busy September and October events calendar that includes the 11 day All New Royal Melbourne Show, Melbourne Showgrounds has a number of event spaces that are ideal for functions including the newly opened Victoria Pavilion in which the 2019 NAB AFL Rising Star Award was held. There are a number of events that require a new venue after Melbourne Dockland’s Central Pier was closed due to reported concerns raised by engineers on Wednesday. With a portion of these events to be held at Melbourne Showgrounds, Mr Paul Guerra, CEO is very pleased to work with the event organisers to accommodate them at Melbourne Showgrounds and in particular utilise the new Victoria Pavilion which was completed in early August.“The Victoria Pavilion is a new function space at Melbourne Showgrounds with a capacity of up to 1,200 guests banquet style and can be configured to match any event plan with the flexibility to divide into three pillar-less smaller spaces. It will be an ideal venue for a gala event such as the AFL Rising Star Awards and we look forward to showcasing the venue.”Speaking further on the clients set to utilise the new Victoria Pavilion and the wider Melbourne Showgrounds venue, Mr. Guerra was excited about the busy month ahead.“Melbourne Showgrounds is located just 7km from Melbourne’s CBD. There is public transport available nearby and we have onsite parking for over 2000 vehicles.”“The venue is currently preparing for the Royal Melbourne Show so we are at full capacity to cater for and host a variety of events in what is a jam packed two months”, stated Mr. Guerra.Around 1 Million visitors annually attend events at Melbourne Showgrounds including the Royal Melbourne Show, Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event, which will be held this year Saturday 21 September to Tuesday 1 October at Melbourne Showgrounds.Source: Melbourne Showgrounds
