VIRTUAL CAREER EXPO FOR GIRLS COLLABRATION BY THE COOL CAREER, BUSINESS CHICKS AND AV/27

By AV 24/7 Pty Ltd, 9 September, 2020

The 2020 cohort of school leavers and university students whose world has been turned upside-down are to benefit from a new virtual career expo to be presented by expo organiser, The Cool Career in partnership with AV24/7 and Business Chicks.

CAREERCON will be held on September 11 – 12 and will be delivered virtually on the platform created by virtual and hybrid event specialist, AV24/7.

Over 3,500 people have already registered for the event which has been curated by talented entrepreneur, Kura Antonello, the influential blogger who created the successful movement, thecoolcareer.com

Kura Antonello said the Class of 2020 were in need of extra guidance and motivation to help them to stay positive about career opportunities despite the interruption caused by Covid-19 and restrictions imposed on their “regular” world.

“We’re really excited about taking the careers expo online for the first time – we’re seeing a huge take-up in registrations from young people in need of inspiration and hope,” Ms Antonello said.

“For years we’ve been working with schools by taking career conversations right to the students – we wanted to make sure that we could still help girls in 2020 and ensure they didn’t feel that 2020 was a lost year.

“There’s a lot of confusion about how disrupted studies will affect getting into university or vocational courses. So, we thought we’d take our experts into the virtual event setting and connect them with the thousands of girls wanting to understand where to next in their career options.”

AV24/7 Co-owner and General Manager, Libbie Ray said she has always been a strong supporter of programs that support and inspire young women, so she felt a strong connection with the work of Kura Antonello.

“We’ve been helping lots of companies deliver virtual and hybrid events. When the opportunity arose to deliver our services to this important initiative, we grabbed it with both hands,” Libbie Ray said.

The two-day live streamed event includes presentations, panel discussions and masterclasses with presenters from a broad range of vocations and professions. Speakers include Melissa Leong (TV Judge MasterChef Australia); Michelle Mathews (Marketing Manager, Medibank); Cait Miers (Photographer) and also Libbie Ray (Co-Owner of AV 24/7).
