Orange Wine Region Comes to Life at The Drinks Industry Show

By , 7 September, 2015

Liquor store owners, restaurant owners, beverage managers, sommeliers and caterers will have the opportunity to taste, trial and buy some local and uniquely cool climate wines from the Orange region when they attend the Drinks Industry Show in November this year.

With over a century of combined winemaking history, Orange region based wineries Ross Hill Wines, Angullong Wines, Philip Shaw Wines and Printhie Wines will be showcasing their vintages to the industry.

The Orange region is considered ideal for grape growing and winemaking because of the combination of geology, soils, climate and temperature. These factors combined produce grapes and wine of distinct flavour and colour with the climate playing the biggest part in giving Orange its distinct natural advantages. The cool temperatures during the growing season coupled with dry autumn conditions are ideal for grape growing.

Proprietor, James Robson, Ross Hill Wines commented on the region’s grape growing,

“The region is planted to 60% red wine varieties and 40% white wine varieties, which says something about the region but also says something about the national palate in the 21st century.”

Mr Robson further explained his reason for exhibiting at The Drinks Industry Show was to educate and “increase consumers’ awareness of their local wine region.”

Fellow cool climate wine producers, Angullong Wines and Philip Shaw Wines join Ross Hill Wines at the upcoming Taste Orange @ Sydney this week.

The Drinks Industry Show features an educational and entertaining series of Show Highlights including expert-led seminars, master classes, mixology demos, taste testing, a drinks lounge and the highly anticipated Australian Bartenders Guild (ABG) Classic & Flair National Cocktail Competition. Also co-locating at the Drinks Industry Show is the Drinks Association: Special Event Network Breakfast on Tuesday 17 November.
