PACIFIC 2015 has been hailed an outstanding success.

The Sydney-based event, held 6 – 8 October, created new records in terms of participation, visiting delegations, conferences and total attendances.

PACIFIC CEO Ian Honnery said the event has matured into an important industry forum that has achieved an enviable international reputation.

"Since its inception in year 2000, the event has continued to grow in terms of industry and government participation as well as prestige and importance," he said.

"As a technology showcase for Australia, Asia and the Indo-Pacific it is second to none."

"It offers a unique networking and learning opportunity and is a direct conduit to many of the key decision makers in naval defence and the maritime industry."

PACIFIC 2015 provided a series of positive outcomes for exhibitors, visitors and delegates.

  • The event attracted a record 494 participating exhibiting companies. In 2015 exhibitors came from 22 countries with the USA contributing 40 companies, the UK 26 and France and Germany 15 each.
  • Total visitations were 14,979.
  • For the first time the number of foreign delegations topped fifty (51). Many of these were naval delegations at Chief of Navy level.
  • There were 18 major conferences and symposia held in conjunction with the PACIFIC Expo.

In addition, PACIFIC 2015 hosted an Innovation Pitchfest in which 30 invited innovators and inventors were given the opportunity to "pitch" ideas and technologies to an audience of potential research partners, customers and venture capitalists.
