PCEC honoured with global technology awardBy Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, 29 June, 2016The Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre is officially among the best in the world when it comes to technology, after receiving a prestigious international award. The venue was named a joint runner up of the 2016 INCON Digital Infrastructure Award at the annual IMEX Tradeshow in the German city of Frankfurt. The award “recognises meeting venues that work innovatively to enable top class connected meetings”. General manager Nigel Keen said that is something PCEC has worked hard to be at the forefront of.“Our recent digital upgrades were the result of us listening to our clients and anticipating their needs, both now and into the future. That’s something we continue to do,” he said.Opened as a state-of-the-art facility in 2004, PCEC further bolstered its capabilities with a significant upgrade to its information technology and Wi-Fi infrastructure.“Event organisers not only enjoy a more efficient service now, but one which support up to 3000 users at any one time,” Mr Keen said.“If they choose to, they can track where delegates are moving around the centre and the content they’re engaged with on their devices.“It can offer incredible insights into what elements of an event or conference are striking the right chord with attendees.”The enhanced technology complements audio-visual upgrades made across many of the meeting spaces, including new full high definition laser projectors, monitors and motorised screens.“The industry is becoming increasingly competitive, so it’s important for us to stay ahead of the curve and introduce features which will really benefit our clients and visitors,” Mr Keen said.“We want to offer more than an impressive meeting space in a beautiful destination. We want our visitors to feel like they have been productive and truly achieved something during their time here.”For more information, visit www.pcec.com.au.Source: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
