R&B superstars to party at Brisbane Showgrounds

By Royal International Convention Centre, 20 October, 2017

US popstar Kelly Rowland and UK singing sensation Craig David are just some of the music royalty taking to the stage at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow, for the sold out RNB Fridays Live concert.

Around 22,000 people will pack the Main Arena for Australia’s biggest R&B party, dancing to nostalgic chart toppers from the 90s and 00s by some of the world’s hottest names in R&B.

Hosted by Fatman Scoop, the line-up includes former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland, Craig David, Ne-Yo, Sean Paul, Kelis, En Vogue, Mario, Christina Milian, Monifah, Ruff Endz and DJ Horizon.

It’s the second year the RNB Fridays Live concert series has toured Australia, but the first time the Brisbane leg has been held at the Showgrounds.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were thrilled the event organisers had chosen their venue to host the popular R&B party.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming R&B stars from the US, UK Jamaica and Melbourne this weekend, along with tens of thousands of local music fans,” he said.

“As Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site we host many large music festivals. St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is holding its tenth festival here on February 10, while Fatman Scoop will return to the Showgrounds on January 25 for Electric Gardens.”

RNB Fridays Live will kick off at 2pm.

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD. For more information about the Brisbane Showgrounds visit www.brisbaneshowgrounds.com.au
