Health and wellbeing is the main focus at the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) this week, with almost 8,000 people expected to attend two major health related events.

Getting underway tomorrow is one of the largest digital health conferences in Australia – the eHealth Queensland Expo – which is set to attract around 1,800 national and international delegates including healthcare professionals, innovators and IT experts.

The aim of the event is to transform the future of healthcare through digital, with high profile speakers to include Health and Ambulance Services Minister Cameron Dick and Intensive Care Specialist and entrepreneur Dr Brian Rosenfeld from the USA.

Meanwhile more than 6,000 people are expected to attend the two day Gluten Free Food Expo from this Saturday, which will feature more than 50 exhibitors, cooking demonstrations and presentations from medical professionals who specialise in coeliac disease.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said with more people now focusing on their health, events like these are becoming more popular.

“The eHealth Queensland Expo launched at our world-class venue last year with great success and is expecting an increase in attendees this year, while more people are now choosing a gluten free lifestyle,” he said.

“May is a bumper month for us with 46 events being staged over 31 days and our experienced team is excelling during this busy time.”

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
