Sydney Showground has Australia’s best events teamBy Sydney Showground, 4 December, 2015Sydney Showground has claimed top team honours at the Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia’s night of nights in Sydney on Wednesday evening, beating a strong field to take out Best Venue Team for 2015.Competing against finalists Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, Sydney Showground was awarded the prize for its work on the IUCN World Parks Congress in November 2014.The event saw Sydney Showground transform for over 6000 delegates from over 170 countries, who utilised 63 venue spaces in 21 different areas across 15 hectares. The Congress delivered an estimated $34.2 million of economic activity into NSW.Peter Thorpe, General Manager of Sydney Showground, said he was thrilled for the team to be recognised with the highest of honours.“I am so proud to be part of such a passionate team who work so incredibly hard with every event, and it’s satisfying to be recognised at the EEAA’s amongst such strong competition,” he said.“Sydney Showground has just achieved a record year and we only plan to grow stronger, so we’re looking forward to all big and small events and challenges in the year ahead.“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our great team at Sydney Showground for all their hard work and dedication, and congratulations on being crowned Best Venue Team for 2015,” said Peter Thorpe.Source: Sydney Showground
