By Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia, 29 January, 2020

Tourism Australia’s specialist business events unit, Business Events Australia, has launched a domestic marketing campaign specifically targeting Australian businesses and event planners who are being urged to hold their conferences, events, exhibitions, incentives and meetings in Australia this year.

Business events have a significant economic impact and Tourism Australia’s new campaign “Event Here This Year” encourages organisations to provide a much-needed boost to the local tourism industry by choosing Australia as the destination for their events

Business Events Australia has developed a campaign toolkit providing the a step-by-step guide and the assets for companies to integrate “Event Here This Year” into their marketing activities.

The business events industry will play an integral part in rebuilding Australia’s visitor economy post the widespread coverage of the recent bushfires.

Tourism Australia is urging the business events community to follow three clear steps to get involved – Step 1: Share the “Event Here This Year” message, Step 2: commit to holding events at home, Step 3: Spread the word #eventherethisyear and use Tourism Australia’s the toolkit and assets.
