Sydney: Throwing full support behind the southern hemisphere’s largest international travel trade show, The Star, Sydney’s premium events and entertainment destination, is proud to be major host and sponsor of The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), 26 – 30 April 2013.
As the pinnacle trade show for the industry, ATE allows Australian tourism businesses a forum in which to showcase products and services to a global audience. For the first time ATE delegates will be introduced to a very different Sydney with the unveiling of the city’s first integrated resort, The Star.
At the event The Star will reveal its now complete offering, including Sydney’s only world class casino, a comprehensive range of on-site accommodation including the five star luxuriously appointed, The Darling Hotel and Spa, access to Australia’s best restaurants and bars, as well as multiple entertainment options from leading acts in the world class Event Centre and the renowned Lyric Theatre.
Throughout the period of the event, representatives of the international travel trade industry including buyers from China and across Asia, Europe and America will experience some of the finest experiences The Star has to offer. With delegates accommodated at the five star The Darling Hotel and Astral Towers for the event duration, The Star will also play host to a number of industry dinners at multiple venues across the complex including Sokyo, The Century and Bistro 80.
The Star’s Cherry Bar has been chosen as the venue to host the iconic Qantas Club evening events, and in a fitting finale to the week of the tradeshow The Star will host “The Last Shout”. This industry farewell gathering, produced by Tourism Australia in conjunction with BelleLaide Events and The Star event team, will be held at the newly completed, $100 million  Event Centre at The Star and will see 1500 delegates experience the brand new multi-purpose venue overlooking Sydney’s infamous Harbour.
