Thousands to roll out their swags at the Brisbane Showgrounds

By Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia, 22 April, 2016

Up to 3,000 people are expected to sleep under the stars at the Brisbane Showgrounds this long weekend, for Camp Gallipoli.

School students, teachers, families and community groups will pack into the showgrounds this Sunday with their swags in tow, to commemorate the birth of the ANZAC Spirit.

The main arena will be transformed into a camping ground for the night and when the sun rises over the showgrounds on ANZAC Day it’ll play host to a special Dawn Service.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said he was honoured that Camp Gallipoli had chosen to hold their event at the Brisbane Showgrounds again, following a successful camp out last year which marked the ANZAC centenary.

“We’re pleased to welcome Camp Gallipoli back for a second year and honoured to be hosting an event which helps to educate people on the ANZAC history,” he said.
